I spoke with a Bosch engineer in DC late last month who was interested in finding a Duramax owner who drives a lot. The exact number of miles wasn't mentioned, but it came up during a conversation about high-mileage engines (a few hundred K or more) over a relatively short period of time.

They might be interested in working with such an owner regarding fuel injection system testing and development. smile.gif

Let me know....

I have 102K on my O3 and I took delivery on 4/28/03. Is that high enough miles?

guess my 01 with less than 30k wouldn't qualify :D

Nope... I didn't quality either with just 51,000 miles in 5 years. :(

I believe what they want is to install some prototype hardware, then let the high-mileage accumulator do some reseach for them.

If I had to guess, I'd imagine they're looking for someone who has accumulated 300-400K on a truck in the past 2-3 years, and is replacing it soon. The research parts would go into the new truck, but that's an assumption on my part.

Jim,

If 107,000 miles (lots of it towing) would work, I'd be willing to volunteer.

Best to you.

24K on my new '05 LLY in ~3 months.

17K additional miles on the used '01 LB7 (90K total) in ~2 months.

Both tow 23' trailers + loads averaging 10K.

The '01 could see see as much as 100K miles next year. The '05 would be less. If they wanted to test on an '06, I could easily be persuaded to trade up to a new one, and put all the miles on that truck with two drivers trading off.

I've put 200,000 on mine LLY in 19 months. #8 injector is giving me problem's now, flowing about 1.5% out of balance on the high side.
In turn confusing the computer and or regulator I guess, causing that surgeing problem at idle. Driving me crazy! Just dding my bit. Thanks,
