I just took my 2002 LB7 Duramax, with 35,000 miles, to the dealer for a surging at idle problem. It doesn't seem to matter what gear I am in, it will jerk you forward at a light if you don't watch it. Anyways the dealer said they upgraded the computer software, which they say had the fix for the problem. It didn't do anything to help it at all. Has anyone had this problem solved, and if so what is the fix. ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY!

yes i have seen this tell the dealer to do a live plot on the fuel pressure regulater with the tech 2.they should see a major flucuation which is caused by the fuel pressure regulater on the supply pump.it can be replace seperate.this has been a small problem on some 01and 02s

yep, probably the FPR and possibly the pump if contamination is found in the tip of the FPR.

Thanks for the feedback, now to try and get Chevy to fix the problem. It doesn't seem like they fix things without a fight.
