17 gallons of diesel + 9 gallons of gas = ?

In a hurry and a new filling station got me in trouble. I drove it 2 miles or so then shut it down, planning on draining tank and new filter, anything else I need to consider?

Should be fine, just get as much out as possible, refuel with diesel, and don't tell GM ;)

I was hoping to get at least 20 gallons out, is it a straight shot to the tank or is there baffling in the filler tube?

What year truck?

In 2004-1/2-ish I believe that there was a change to the filler neck. I think this followed the LLY. I haven't tried to run a siphon down inside personally.

I've not had any luck siphoning much fuel out of any of them. It's best just to drop the tank or pull the bed and doesn't take all that long.

In a hurry and a new filling station got me in trouble. I understand. Always in a hurry (deliveries) and always at a different station on the road.

Too many green handled pumps. E85, others where they are advertising 'green' environmentally friendly (?) fuels like BP.

Green handles should only be diesel fuel, IMO. I have almost made the same mistake myself.

On my lift, I would pop the quick connect behind the fuel cooler and rig a device to pull the fuel from this point. A section of 1/2" OD steel line should go inside, but would need to be held in place. Be sure to debur so you don't nick the oring.

Is the mix really a problem for these engines?

On my old 93 6.5TD I ran a tank of 60-40 (heavy on the diesel - I caught myself part way through) and never had any resulting problems.

Asked a guy driving a PSD, and he said he ran a tank of 80% gas, only problem he admitted was it wouldn't start very well after he shut it off.

Anyone know what actual problems or damage could occur?
