The newest fuel filters offered for the Duramax are using a redesigned filter element.

If you would like to read more about auxiliary (or secondary) fuel filters, check out the product reviews in my sig link.

No, I don't currently run an auxiliary. I recommend an auxiliary for those who believe their local fuel might have problems or prefer to take fewer risks. If your local fuel suppliers have a good history, there's less need, but...

Aside from the product review, we also have a DIY aux fuel filter installation (http://www.thedieselpage.com/members/features/ritchiehays.htm) available in the Member's Area.
