I am looking to do a stage three upgrade. Either ATS or Suncoast. On my cummins I have a full stage v tranny with over 600 HP getting thrown at it no problem. The electronics are another story, or rather nightmare. Any input would be apriciated very much, thanks Jim Shaw

I have the stage 3 in mine. Puts it all to the ground and then some. It handled the big VA that John sells with 12,000# behind it at the Pull-off, and is a dream towing my own trailer with ANY power you decide on.

Motovet,
Thanks for the responce. I already have the VA 110/230 box, propane, AFE stage two intake and a 4inch stainless exhaust. I just need to get the power to the ground. The Suncoast stage three was my first choice, I did'nt want to go through the ATS hell again. My cummins has been in the shop for six weeks already and they still can't trace the problem down.

Thanks again, Jim Shaw

Jim, you won't be disappointed with the Suncoast. You may want to talk to John after the upgrade to update to the new tune. It is VERY good.

Just FYI, the 230/110 VA falls far short of my 200+. I believe that my sample 230 came from the same place as yours if you bought it somewhat locally.

kennedy,

I get my work done by a freind of mine. H is name is Danny and he owns Precision Diesel here on Long Island. He does R&R work with VA and does his programming in house. I believe from what I've read about you that you are the same type of people.(a comment about how many race boxes you have unsold) reminds me of the way he does business. That being said I would like to here more about your 200+ box. I'm a diesel high HP junkie, fourth one heading towards 600+ HP when somebody starts addressing turbo upgrades these Duramaxes will be real contenders!

Hope to here from you, Jim Shaw

Thanks for the input. I'm going to go with the stage three from Suncoast. I'd still like to here from kennedy about his updated VA drag file.

Jim,
I am on LI also,Smithtown area. Who will be doing your stage three? I can't seem to find anybody to do it. I had a friend ask a few Allison certified shops (he deals with them pretty often) but they said they wouldn't touch it. Something about losing the cert. When I spoke to the guys at Performance, they told me I wouldn't need a tranny upgrade. Nice guys, spent a lot on fluids, but not sure if it was the best advice. I am running the juice with attitude and @ th 125 setting it shifts like crap. Very mushy and slippy when accellerating hard. I have spoken to the GM tech on this site and he is willing to do it but the trip to Michigan is a little lengthy and when I was just about ready to set it up, I went and spent the money on a new 5th wheel. Let me know who will be doing it for you. Thanks

Murray,
I was at Precision today. I had a talk with Danny about the stage three from Suncoast. Awhile ago he talked me out of it to. Today I told him I was going to do it anyway and he said no problem, he was just waiting for a better fourth gear clutch pack. I'm not going to wait and since he's a dealer for Suncoast I know he'll do it. The thing with Danny is he really is looking out for his customers. Sometimes he just needs a little push. He actually has the units in stock. If you're serious let me know and maybe we'll get them done at the same time.
