Just bought a Wix fuel filter from NAPA (about 1/3 the price of the dealers) and was wondering if anyone has used one or had any problems with them??

Thanks in advance:

Wix are some of the best filters made. I wish I could find the 57202 oil filter somewhere, AC filters are not my favorite... All Wix distributors here in Texas say the the number isn't even good.

The Wix rep gave me that number several months ago, it should still be the correct one. I will call a Wix Distributor and follow up on it. If they have any I will notify you.

Called Wix directly, they said that the filter should be available end of January or start of February. The part number should be 57202.

The 57202 is correct . I went to the WIX web sight and entered 57202 in their search and it came back with 6.6 Duramax diesel , and also listed #s for fuel and air filters .

I have and article that I hope to get put up on the web site soon. It is from the Power Stroke Register and they evaluate several popular brands of oil filters. I think that some will be surprised.

I have fianlly given up playing the GM game of the $14 buck oil filter, and I hate having to also play the game with GMpartsdirect with the outlandish S&H and delayed shipping

I was wondering if anybody has further feedback about WIX filters. I have always used WIX filters with great success. I got 2 today at $7.48 ea and looked very closely at them and they actually look better built than the GM units.

Just would like any users feedback

57202 are available as of now. Purchased one a month ago and have had no problems. I talked to Wix rep and questioned him about the red filter recall and he said it had to do with the bypass valve and incorrect spring pressure. I paid $6.46

Air filter # 46667; Fuel filter 33810

I got a case (12) of the GM "black steath" filters (p/n 97214983) from GMpartsdirect.com
for $8.61 each.

56Nomad,
Saw the Pics of 56 in Santa Cruz, You from around there? I grew up in Santa Cruz area. Hung out on West Cliff drive most of my young life...Well I guess I still go by there so maybe I have yet to grow up... :D . I surfed a lot out at "Steamers". Had been to almost all of the original "Beach Street revivals" Matter of fact attended the first 10 which started back in 1977. The GREAT REINERO.....Hahahaha. Brings back some good memories. When do they do this show nowadays? Nice truck BTW....

As for the filters from GMpartsdirect, I originally liked the thought of that but I was not to keen on plunking down a "Benjamin" for oil filters so I could get a better price. After speaking with my friend at the parts store where I got my WIX filter, he said he will get them for me at his discounted price which is now $7.12 each and I can buy them 1 at a time. I ride my bike to the parts store so it is very convenient. I am in no way saying GMpartsdirect is bad and it works perfect for people that do not have parts stores within riding distances.
I personally would like K&N to release their filter for the DMAX. No more strap filter wrenches. K&N filters come with a 1" welded nut on the end of them so you can take them on and off with a ratchet or Box end wrench. I use these filters on the race car and they sure are convenient.

Thanks again

Carry On... :D

When do they do this show nowadays?

Well the Beach Street Revival died as it got too big and cost to much
to attend for most rodders. It has been revived to some extent....
different name "Hot Rods at the Beach" It only costs $40 to enter
and it is held right at the Beach Boardwalk. Oct. 12 and 13th,
All benefits go to the Santa Cruz Police Officers Association for
their numerous programs for the youth in the community. 400 to
500 hot rods and customs. If your interested, call Quality Automotive
and they'll send you a registration form. (831) 427-2323

It really is a great time!

Are you the infamous GREAT REINERO????
