Welcome, 33# of Transynd should cover it. Seriously, I don't know the weight of the oil, but I believe it was 15 qts. for a complete change. I had a local Allison shop do mine with Transynd. The Dextron that comes in it is also recommended.

Thanks for the reply, but the guy that is going to order it says it comes in different weights. i may have to call the dealer on this.

Get a new source the guy doesn't know what he is talking about. ATF doesn't come in weights. It comes in "Types". You need Dexron Type III or the equivlent. And I beleive it's more like 24 quarts for a complete swap of fluid.

Based on a number of posts, the transmission capacity is as follows:

STOCK SHALLOW PAN CAPACITY 7.4 QTS (ALL YOU CAN DRAIN)
LARGE PAN CAPACITY 7.4 QTS + 3.2 QTS = 10.6 QTS

TOTAL CAPACITY (DRY SYSTEM) W/SHALLOW STOCK PAN 12.7 QTS
TOTAL CAPACITY (DRY SYSTEM) W/DEEP PAN 15.9 QTS

The following thread is one of many that explains how to replace all the transmission fluid.

Russ's numbers above are correct, except that "total system" includes the Allison only. You need to add to those numbers about 1.5 qt. for the cooler and lines.
