There was a gentleman on the TDR the other day that was wondering whether or not the injectors were interchangeable between a 6.6 and a 7.8 Duramax. Does anyone know? If they are this could lead to some serious POWER!! :D

that gent was me [i think??].. that would be neat if they were interchangeable.. potential for some added fuel for a somewhat reasonable price

Dang, you guys are wanting to HiPo your 6.6's with a new set of injectors and I only need one to get my truck out of the hospital. The #3 clogged, failed or whatever in Kansas City and we limped back to North Georgia on 7 cyl's. pulling a 28 footer. GMC said it was ok because the pistons are lubricated and wouldn't hurt a thing. Anyway if it ain't I've got a case number. I just hate the week without it waiting for the part. NONE ANYWHERE WAS THE REPLY

Hope you get it fixed soon!

I wonder if Dmax Man or Dr. Dmax can answer the question about injectors swaps with the 7.8????

I believe the 6.6 is unique with the under the valve covers design...

Anyhoo, Im just waiting for the local Central Dist to get common rail test equipment so they can set up a set of mod nozzles...

SORRY PEOPLE-THE 7800 (AND 7200) INJECTORS ARE DIFFERENT THAN THE 6600 INJECTORS.THE FUEL SUPPLY LINE COMES IN THE SIDE ON THE 7800 AND AT ABOUT A 45 DEGREE ANGLE ON THE 6600...
