After all the fuel filter conversation, I decided to cut a stock filter open to see for myself.

I probably missed it on this forum but the size of the element surprised me. That is a pretty big tin can to put an element about 2 3/8" high. It is no wonder to me why they clog so quickly.

Has this been mentioned before on the forum and I just missed it?

I also use a Baldwin 1213 pre-filter and when I cut it open the element was about 4"

Has anyone cut open a Megafilter?

CLick the second link in my sig for many pics of Dmax fuel and oil filters.

I have a KD Mega filter sitting on my workbench waiting to be cut open....I discovered that the Mega requires a Mega sized cutter  ...my largest Airwolf filter cutter (http://www.airwolf.com/) is too small...working on a solution....
