Im a newbie here but I have been reading about the fuel issues. Is the Racor 660 post-oem 2 micron filter a good choice?? Also, what micron is the oem racor filter??

Bill, There is a book full of info on the forum about installing a secondary filter. The 660 is a good choice. The OEM is suppose to be a 2 micron. Go up to the search and enter fuel filter. You will get more than you can stand. Later! Lone Eagle ;)

William,

First, let me say I come to the table with some bias as I
installed the Racor 660 after doing some a good amount of
homework on the topic, mostly with the help of all the folks on TDP.

As I've said before, we're fortunate to have options about
what we intall as a post OEM filter. I think you'll be able
to get very similar end results with CAT, RACOR or STANYDYNE
2 micron absolute secondary filters.

I also like JK's mega filter, but I don't know if all the problems
with it trapping air have been resolved 100%

I like the CAT as their replacement filters are available in
stock in every major town. The rest of the above mentioned
brands you probably need to order.

Welcome aboard, good luck and enjoy The Diesel Page

I believe the OEM filter is a 15-micron. but just as Nomad said, there are many choices, whether you go pre-oem or post-oem. all of them will be a big improvement, and each method (post vs. pre OEM) have their pro's and con's. do a search and you'll get a novel.
