the gm dealer filled my new fuel filter with atf what is this all about...thanks for replys

No idea about that one, unless it was their way of priming the fuel system.

I've heard of that being done, I think atf acts as an injector cleaner. I don't think its recommended for the high pressure dmax injection system. Might be worth posting this in the Duramax 6600 forum for a better response.
