I bought a 4L80E transmission for my truck with computer and wireing.
This computer is supposed to be a stand alone unit for a mech. diesel.

The trany type plate says:

4L80E
MK P
92- 1256

The computer has two conectors and a blue chip inside that says blue when looked at from the bottom.

Computer tag :
serv.nr. 16147609
863619 M210304616

I have doubts about this being a standalone unit couse on the tranny wireloom is a connector that fits an electronic trottle pedal sensor, so I think this is for a 6.5 electronic?

Can any one comfirm this doubt by the discibtion above?

Thanks, Peter

if it's a 3 pin connector your talking about it goes to the throttle position sensor on the side of the injection pump. I know the stand-alone gm unit has it's own chip. There should also be a connector that goes to the engine speed sensor where the vacuhm pump goes on our old stuff. Then there are 3 plugs on the trans.....two speed inputs and the big circular shaped plug way back by the output shaft just above the transmisson pan. I just bought a 4l80e last week, connected to a 599 block '92 smile.gif

I think that the trany and the computer come from different places.
I found connectors for an electronic injection aplication.
But that makes me wonder about the comuter.

For the moment I wait and see what happens.
Worse case scenario I suspent the licence till the truck is 25 years old and is an oldtimer
(4 years  )
Maybe I start a small bussines to keep it grey
