stock with engine not real hot 245hp and 461 torque. 6500ish miles on.

ez-amp 3.0 built last may, never updated, level 4 gave 332hp and 642 torque. that's 181 ft lb and 87hp. nowhere near as much torque as i expected but the hp looks ok.

dyno guys were pretty stunned. they wanted to know what i'd done to when the box wasn't even hooked up. they'd had a chipped powerstroke in that filled the whole place with smoke to get 254hp.

i'm updating the juice from version 3.0 to 4.61 (or whatever) to get the oil pressure gauge to work. and also to see if the new juice is weaker than the old ones as some have said.

i will also be installing the kennedy 4" and the k&n fipk from my dear departed 2001. should shed some light on how much these things help power. they definitely reduce the boost lag. and sound cool too.

egt and boost gauges are going in of course. may even get the hot juice update....

I just ordered the Hot juice today and will be taking it to the dyno soon. Can you elaborate on the testing procedure? Also what kind of dyno was it.

Matt,

Glad to see your truck putting up some good numbers. Did you dyno with the 285's or 265's. Also where you the one that entered the truck pulls last year?

The best way to control the tranny is to use the Tech II. They can control all aspects of the tranny and lock it in 4th gear for the run.

kerry witherspoon-i disabled overdrive and he left it in drive, accelerated fairly hard through second and third and then got his reading in fourth. he said it was best to get the reading in a 1:1 gear ratio. also, they had to pull the front skid plate to get the magnetic pickup installed on the flywheel.

Trippin-dyno is a dynojet roller, not sure which model.

TN farmer-dyno'd with the new 285's on at 60psi. don't know if other tires would make a difference or not. i asked about putting weight in the bed and tires spinning on the roller and he said that is not a problem until the 1000hp level. and yes i did do one truck pull last fall with the 2001 before i sold it. it still had the exhaust and intake on it, which i have yet to put on the 2003.

SoCalDMAX-i've read that is the way to go with the tech 2, but don't believe these guys have that kind of equipment.

still seems like the torque figures are low to me...i thought level 4 was supposed to be good for 250#ft?

It probably is good for about 250#ft, at an RPM lower than you could get without locking it into 4th with the Tech-II...Just a hunch.

that makes sense as the graph does not start showing until 2500rpm stock and 2750rpm juiced. i can't recall where gm says we make peak torque but i think its about 2200ish, isn't it?
