Anyone have any comments on the long-term performance (and any problems) with the gear drives?

I DID search before posting. Yes, there's lots of info, but my specific question was LONG TERM (performance and reliabilty). That's why I posted, to get fresh info, on their reliability with the passage of time (and miles).

Sorry if my post offended you, Gear!

The 6.5 Project (http://www.thedieselpage.com/finale.htm) engine now has more than six years and 156,000 miles with the DSG gear drive timing set. Nary a problem.... In fact, the fuel injection timing hasn't needed to be touched in all this time.

My truck is approaching 50k miles with the gear drive and it has run better than it did when new. Don't hesitate.

Mine, close to 50K.
Had timing set TDC-1.75 at gear install.
Three years later, wanted to up it,down it should say, -1.95. TDC was still showing -1.75
Great product :D
