I had a chance yesterday to see a couple of 2003 Chevy Silverado trucks, both 1500 and 2500HD models. I am happy to report that there IS a difference between the standard 1500 (And 2500), and the Heavy Duty models. We were always told that they had the same

That's exactly what they did to the GMC in 2001. Simply added a plastic riser on top of the bumper and made the grill slightly more noticable.

Heard a rumor that 2005 is another facelift of some sort.

I really like the looks of the '02 and '03 GMC's (I know there's no accounting for taste), which is why I ordered the latter. I also think the first generation HD Chevy's are among the handsomest pickups on the road. I'm less jazzed about the '03 Chevy's, but I trust those who have seen them in the flesh. I'm picking up my new GMC tomorrow from Dave Smith. I'll let you know my impressions as soon as I've had it long enough to form any. But for now, I'm having to breath into a paper bag to stave off hyperventilation.
