Hi Guys:

I made a couple of sound files of the Banks system...the only problem is that I don't yet have a website to host them, so if you'd like to hear them, send me an e-mail and I'll forward the attachments. Sorry for the inconvenience, but I'm working on getting a site up soon.

One clip is windows-up in the cab, full throttle acceleration to 85mph. The other is outside the truck at idle, with a few rev's. If you'd like any other sound recordings, I'll do my best to accomodate... ;)

Well, thanks to my sweet husband (the computer whiz), you may now access the sound files directly. I will be adding more files as the muse strikes, so check back often.

I tried, I failed. It says there are 2 files but when I click on them it says the files are empty. Is it ME or your "sweet husband the computer whiz" tongue.gif

Sorry about that, Stretch...

I think it will work now. Let me know if you have any more problems.

DMaxDiva,

Absolutely fantastic!! You and your hubby, is it DMaxDan?, deserve an award. With the Banks on you definitely have a great sound. Thanks for taking the time to share this with us.

I wasn't gonna touch that one... what a twisted bunch, helpful, but twisted. ;)

APR2000:

Thanks for the input...no, my husband is not DmaxDan, but rather a wonderfully kind, indulgent man who encourages me to develop my interest (or should I say obsession?) in these trucks, then gladly reaps the benefits of my labors!

Hi Diva,
Thanks for posting your sound clip. I'm very interested in either upgrading to the Kennedy or Banks exhaust. I've had Banks stuff twice before and I'm sold on their quality, but I've heard nothing but great stuff about John's exhaust. Now, after the "licking thing" I've got to mention this. We have a DSL connection at the office and a file that size will load almost instantly. But, at home, this@$#$$*^ telephone modem NEVER connects any faster than 14400. Ok, so I listen to the file at work, sounds great. Get home and it loads, then plays about a 1-2 second burst, loads some more then another burst and so on. Well bottom line, I had to turn the thing off, it sounded like a very anger bear or a game of Musical chairs after an all night bean eating contest.
Keep it coming, we're all enjoying your company

Hi Diva,

Love those sound clips, it sounds awesome inside and outside the cab! The revving sound clip really has a nice "rip" to it.

I don't know if anyone else noticed, but the 0-85mph sound clip only took 16 seconds. That's not 0-60, it's 0-85. She's moving pretty fast!

I once got into a pointed discussion with a young owner of a CTD about Cummins vs Dmax power. He had a friend with a CTD and a video clip of it accelerating from 60 to 105mph. It took 29 seconds. I almost started snoring. ;)

Regards, Steve

KompressorMan:

Thanks for the visual...brings to mind that infamous campfire scene from Blazing Saddles! :D :D :D

SoCal Steve:

Yep, think I'm gonna have to take her to the track and make it official...guess I'd better remove those Ranch Hands first (that's about 500lbs right there...hmmm; an extra 5 tenths!)

KompressorMan,

FYI, let it fully download while listening to the cut outs, then replay it again and you should be able to hear the full soundclip without it cutting out.

oneton,

She's a keeper! Usually their criteria for judging things is "That's sooo cute!!" ;)
