Hey all. Just wondering if anybody knows what the easiest and cheapest way to get another 40-60 reliable HP out of my '99 6.5 would be. I've been thinking about an intercooler, but I do too much off road to use the kit that installs between the frame behind the bumper.
Does anybody offer one that fits behind the grill? I've been reading some of the books I got when I joined this site, and I read that my truck should have 19.5:1 compression. This should allow me to upgrade the horse power without maxing out my EGT's.
Also, can anybody tell me where the best place to send my computer to get Re-Flashed would be.

Thanks again for the input L8R

EX system, reflash ECM, Open up the air intake system, high flow air filter and even use a boost control like JK sell.
That will give even more than ask for.

Since you have the exhaust a reflash is the next step. Heath has one ready now, JK will have his ready soon (I wish I would have known about it, i may have waited). Both are excellent vendors.

The 19.5:1 GM engines were never built. I think the later AMG replacements/Hummers may have it.

The 4" cat back straight pipe dosen't really help much on the exhaust restrictions. You really need to get a mandrel bent (none GM abortion)down pipe and if you can gut the cat. You will see a big difference in power.

Can you tell me how to contact Heath and JK about pricing and availability? I need my truck every day, so I might go to a wrecker and get another computer to reflash so I can keep mine stock just in case.
Also, does anybody know of an intercooler kit to go behind the grill? And how do you modify an intercooler? How do you seal it up again? Just interested to see if I can find one to make work in my truck.
