Hi All,

Were there ever any emblems made up for the trucks equipped for the 6.5L Turbo Diesel? I think there were some lettering, if not an emblem for the 6.2. I think it

I have been looking for the same thing. Someone once said that the 6.5's are now used in the Hummers or whatever they are called in SUV Yuppie world. Haven't seen one yet.

In another thread someone is having made up a sticker type for their tailgate. I think the one I'm remembering from the 6.2 was really just a sticker. Heck, just having simple scripted lettering saying 6.5L Turbo Diesel or something like that would be cool!

Art,

Your avatar pic is a Hummer decal which is available, as per the following thread...I have one on my end gate, the're rather small, but quite nice. Not sure that is what you are after, but they would probably look pretty good above you 2500 on the doors. (like the duramax emblem)

also there is the 6.5 diesel turbo sticker that is in the creases in the hood, suspect they are available from any GM dealer.

My truck has an emblem sticker but it is only on both sides of the hood "6.5 Turbo Diesel". Not much to see when I'm passing the gassers going up the pass...
Maybe the dealer could find y'all a replacement sticker for the tailgate?

PRE 1995 6.5 TD's had the lettered decals on both sides of the hood. I purchased some from the dealer for my 1998 Suburban.

I have 2 of those Hummer badges on mine. One above each of my 2500 emblems. I think it looks great and they are only about $12 a piece and cheaper than those 6.5L Turbo Diesel decals for the hood.

I was thinking about designing one for my Suburban and having it made in Fredericksburg. I'll keep all you all posted once I get a designed made out and placed on the truck. I was thinking of putting one along the hood line and a smaller identical one for the rear. If I do make it I'll post it on the forum along with the contact information.

You can get them from a Hummer dealer. IIRC they are about $10-12 a piece. I will try and look up the part number for you and post it.

That was easier than I thought finding that part number so here it is: Part# 6008595
The description should be emblem- 6.5 Turbo Diesel

If you don't have a local Hummer dealer do like I did and check out there website and find the closest dealer and call them and have them ship them righ to your front door. I think they only charged me like $5 shipping. Lots less than driving 2 hours one way just to get them.

I got the hood type from my local chev dealer. My 94 sub has them on hood but they are not that visible so I got one for the tailgate.I was given the choice of 3 color schemes,I got argent silver and red as those are the 2 tone colors of my rig.Sorry I dont have part #, but dealer looked it up and found it quickly......GB

Do you happen to have any pictures of how it looks? I assume you have them on the stock hood inside the creases facing outward?

Do you happen to have pictures of them on your door? I'd love to see them. Interested in seeing the placement where they are stuck and how they look in reference to the rest of the door. I should be getting mine pretty soon so can't wait to put them on. I pass Hummers all the time and now just started looking for the emblem but have yet to see one. Probably all have sparkplugs

I have a design for a sticker.I wanted to do something different from the factory hood stickers, which is where I think they belong.Tailgate badging is a Japanese thing(SR5,King-Cab,EFI,4wd,OneTon...)The US always(traditionally)embossed makers name proudly across tailgate,a true trademark.Anyway($.02),I have a custom Ram-Air type hood and although the factory emblems would show real well, like PatrickM`s,I`m doing a custom thing to be different.Rather than lettering,I think I`ll get stickers made.I want to emphasize the American aspect of our trucks, since Japanese companies have dared to set foot on the sacred full-size truck market(with Formula-1 power, whatever).I`m sure it`s a matter of time that we`ll see diesels powering these sudo-full-sizers(if the #s show that to be a profitable move).I don`t think I`ll do the red/white/blue/stars/stripes thing, but the #s 396 are part of my plan.
