Disclamer.
I have no assocation with the Amsoil Company other than being a very satisfied paying user of there products.
The below instructions are not sanctioned by the Amsoil Company.
Instructions for installing Amsoil TS123 Air Filter in 2001+ GM HD trucks & others.
1) Be sure truck is not moving.
2) Set parking brake. (See operators manual.)
3) Be sure engine is stopped. (See operators manual.)
4) Open hood. (See operators manual.)
5) Locate air box. (See operators manual.)
6) Loosen 4 screws in the air box cover with phillips screwdriver. (Turn screwdriver
counterclockwise.)
7) Remove air box cover.
8) Remove old air filter.
9) Remove new Amsoil filter from shipping container.
10) Remove plastic wrap from around Amsoil filter. (Very important)
11) With a shop rag or paper towel remove excess oil from new Amsoil filter.
12) Install Amsoil filter into air box with metal mesh facing up.
(Metal mesh layer of the Amsoil filter should not be pushed below the top of
the air box.)
(The fit of the filter is very tight. This is normal & makes for a very good seal
between the filter & air box.)
13) Reinstall air box cover.
(Assistance may be required to hold the air box cover down so screws can be started in to nuts.)
15) Tighten 4 screws in air box cover with phillips screw driver. (Turn screwdriver
clockwise.)
16) Optional. Install Amsoil decal, write date & milage on decal when filten was
installed.
17) Be sure to remove all tools & any other foreign items from engine compartment.
18) Close hood. (Being extremely careful not to smash fingers between hood & grill.)
