My opinion would be No........For the reason of in tow haul it will hang in gear longer......I'd rather it shift to a higher gear ratio ...With the amount of torque I got it runs real good in higher gears......Pulls strong......Even in OD...Once your in the power band only a higher ratio will get you going at a quicker ground speed .For faster ET'S.......
MAC :D :D

Who in hell would ever think of racing a 7500 # truck anyway.... ;) ;)

Mine runs faster in tow haul mode, confirmed it on the race track.
OH, mine only weighs 6200#, 15.46 at 88.7 mph in only 1320 feet from a standing start.
(this is minus driver, he weighs 220)

PEANUT,

Are you running propane and Bd at the same time? No limp? How does tow haul give better et's? When it's designed to give EXTENDED shift times.........Please explain.

Sorry, been at the race track last 2 days, mine has an Amsoil filter and a Dynomite box or Van something or other with 30 or 80 hp setting and P265 R75 Coopers.

I recall Tow/Haul mode locks the torque converter for gears 2,3,4, and also 5th (IIRC). Of course less gear slipping means better elapsed time. ;)

MACKIN, AZKEVIN SAID IT------ LESS SLIP BETTER ET JUST TRY IT YOURSELF USE A GTECH OR TAKE IT TO THE TRACK. YES IM USING PROPANE WITH VARIOUS OTHER MODS!!!!!!! NO CODES RACING BUT HAULING IS A DIFFERENT STORY

I agree, in Tow/haul the converter is locked 2nd-5th--has to be quicker.

Could the better times in tow/haul be a result of improper or different tranny training methods?

No, it just shifts harder, I believe it also raises the line pressure to the clutches to get a firmer shift. The tourque converter being locked will increase the harshness of the gear change, in other words you don't get a smooth gear change, it shifts hard!
I almost forgot, T/H mode made about 2 1/2 tenths difference in 1/4 mile ET.
