From the manual:

Start and run the engine until the engine coolant temperature is more than 82

2DAMAX, What tool are you going to use to check your injectors ? I`ve got a predator, but still don`t know how to use it to check the injectors.

With your engine running and the Predator plugged into the data port do the following:

From Main Menu:
Select Diagnostics
Then Select Auto Tranny
Then Select Real Time Data
Then Select Engine Data
Then Select Engine Data 2

Now scroll down about 12 data fields. This should center all eight Balance Rate data fields on the screen.

Reference this link for an organized list of real time data parameters monitored by the Predator:

77TransAm - Thank you for the test procedure from the manual.

Hi Kent,

The Predator has been sitting in the corner of my home office for about 2 months now. I took last week off from work (to decompress), so I finally had some free time to play with it. Mainly used just the Real-time Data Monitoring aspect of the device. It is interesting watching the interaction between the fuel rail pressure, injection timing, injection pulse width and fuel rate. I don't plan on loading any of the performance tunes (don't trust them). I also looked at the Balancing Rates and everything seems to be fine (all injectors between 0-1, except one sitting at -1.8). If you want to use it sometime to look at the Balance Rates on your truck, let me know, I'll bring it into work and you can take it home. We have our program CDR happening in early March at work. After that event, I'll have some free time again and I plan on getting the Juice/Attitude combo to install on the truck. Should be fun.

Have a Good Holiday and see you at work in January '04;

Alan

Thanks for the info.I`ve never used the pred for diagnostics before so I am still learning. I`ll give it a try and see what happens
I am sure glad there are those out there that are willing to help us dummys.

Alan....Sounds like it might be interesting to take a look some time. Good choice, in my opinion, on the Juice. I need to add the Attitude to mine. Let me know if you want to drive one Juiced or if you want try it on your truck. See ya next year. Have a great holiday!
