I have read in some signatures about modifiying the fan clutch to kick in sooner, how would I go about doing that if i wanted too, not sure if I need to yet but it would be nice to know...

For the OEM fan, you basically find out whcih way the thermostat spring coils when heated (hair dryer). There is a notch in the shaft that the spring's tab is fitted into. Idea is to rotate the spring about 1/8" more in the direction of the coiling. Some bend the spring at the shaft, others have removed the spring, widened the notch enough for the necessary offset, and replaced the spring. Evidently it's OEM'd siliconed into the shaft end, and JB Weld allows better heat transfer, once you have it set.
Heath and Kennedy have fan clutch upgrades, but this is the Po' man's attempt to save a buck.
Try that search feature, there may be more definitive description on what to do, and how.
