I've been driving my sub with the tech 1 attached and watching the boost numbers. She wont make much more than 3 psi @ WOT.

Truck runs fine, has power, you can hear turbo spool up if the window is down.

So now I get nosy and wire the wastegate closed (i think i wired it closed).....same results.

Gotta figure you get more than 3 psi boost...right??

How much does a dirty filter effect things? (its 6 mos old) Its also a liitl oily around the discharge rubber hose (possible pressure leak/blow by?)

I guess if you look for problems you'll find em!

stupid me...the number I was looking at was the voltage coming from the boost sensor. The boost is measured in Kpa.

I subtracted the max boost in kpa from the barometric pressure and came up with 30 kpa. According to my calcs that equals 4.35 lbs of boost.

Question is, is this typical under WOT?? I dont have any turbo modifiers...strictly stock in that regard.

Thanks

with the wastegate wired shut, you should see over 15psi.
as im sure you already know, you need guages!
EGT and BOOST at the least.
dont run very much with the wastegate wire shut without an intercooler.
stock boost will be 5-7 psi.

I hear you on the gages...still recovering from my emergency FSD $urgery.

I'm using the tech 1 as gages for now...guess the PCM doesnt care about exhaust temps.

I wired the wastegate shut for all of 2 minutes while i did a WOT run to see if I could kick up the boost.

No dice...will have to go mechanical for verification and take it from there.
