It pays to shop around. I got on the Baldwin website and cranked in my zip code, found the closest dealer and got a pleasant surprise. The B1441 filter was $7.36 and the BF7635 (megafilter) was $32.25. No shipping, no sales tax (NH). Give it a try.

Yeah,

I got a quote from a local dealer for $22 on the BF7635

Can you tell me more about the Mega filter? I'm already using the B1441, and wasn't aware there was another Baldwin we could use.
Thanks,
Rich

rtquig,

The BF7635 is a 2-micron fuel filter (AKA the JK MegaFilter). smile.gif

Racor recommends against using a second 2 micron filter.

I have yet to get a reason why. Has anybody heard the reason dorectly from Racor?

Yes I am using one post OEM with no problems so far. I'm hoping the OEM removes enough to leave the leftovers for the second larger filter.

Thanks Jbplock.
At first I thought it was a larger oil filter.

hoot.......

We can only surmise that if Racor gave it's
blessing for a 2 micron post OEM filter, that would
imply that their OEM filter was not adequately
filtering to 2 micron as claimed. That is my
quess.

Adding secondary 2 micron absolute filtration cannot
do any harm to our fuel systems.
