The fast-idle solenoid shaft length is adjustable by screwing it in or out.

We lost some data a few days ago due to a server crash....

What year 6.2 are ya dealing with?

There are two styles of the fast idle solenoid.

One of the two is really easy to adjust, the other not so easy.

The later model solenoid has a standard screw driver access from the top of the solenoid, and you can adjust it w/o removing anything.

The older style (seen on 82's for sure) has the adjuster hex on the opposite side, and it's a small hex that you probably don't have the wrench in the drawer to fit. So, you'll end up taking off the solenoid off the throttle bracket and playing with it.
