With all the fluid temp and pressure measurements we are interested in while making MORE POWER - why do we not watch engine oil temperature?

Is it because it is so easily controlled with a cooler - and not a concern?

Your engine has a built in engine oil cooler that uses your coolant to cool the oil. As long as everytnings flowing and the coolant temp. is ok, the oil probably is too. Now if you did some serious long distance hauling with too high a setting on one of those adders, it possible I suppose to need additional engine oil cooling.
Im not sure, but I think it's being checked by the ECM, just not being reported to a gauge. Maybe someone who knows for sure can comment on that. I thought I read that somewhere.

I watch the oil temp on my rig. Don't have any baseline data as to the upper safe limits for diesel pickups.
