Tried to convice the service manager and techs at the dealership for 6 months I had a problem. My Duramax quit starting a week ago. Pump finally quit pumping enough pressure. They said 120psi was all they could get when they tested. Service manager still isn't conviced that Racor, Baldwin and other filters are the same filter as a GM filter.

Is the fuel pump part of the injection pump or is it a seperate pump? If it is seperate where is it located.

There is only one OEM fuel pump on the Duramax. That pump contains both a low pressure suction pump, and a high pressure (rail) pump.

There is only one manufacturer of OEM fuel filters for the Duramax. Parker (Racor) makes all the filters, regardless of the brand name on them. The "GM" filter came along long after the original Racor was on dealer's shelves. Your tech should know that without even thinking about it.
