Maybe a bad idea but please give me your thoughts. I can buy a fuel pump for about $40 and a Baldwin Fuel/Water separating filter (BF1213 6 Micron) for $13.50. The filter mount is less than $20.00 but have not check recently.
I have a bottom drain on my additional tank (60 Gal.)which I can put a fuel line on to go the filter and then to the pump to empty into the top of my tank.
After I fill it, I can run the pump long enough to filter the fuel 2 to 3 cycles. You could do this while you are running on the factory tank or the extra tank. This should at least extend the life of the factory filter plus remove water that might settle in the tank. What's your opinion?
