By entering your VIN # (at vciecomm.gm.com/vci) to check my trucks software status does that tell me what has to be done or what has already been done to my truck. My SES light just came on and I am trying to get a head's-up before taking it to dealer. Thanks

I believe the site lists what's available not what has or has not been done to Your truck.

Take it to Autozone. They will hook your truck up to a code scanner for free and tell you what code it threw. Have you started using the block heater recently?

Had2Hav,

That address won't work either. I'd like to check out that site if someone can post the correct URL.

thechevyhdman,

My dad and I got some old McKormick tractor parts if you need them. Off from F-20's, F-30's, 10-20's, blocks, radiators, heads, all kinds of good stuff.

Michael Tomac, yes, I did use the block heater the night before I got the light. Mentioned it to dealer and he hadn't heard of any problems associated with it. Any info. you have would be appreciated !!

I got the SES after using my block heater a couple weeks ago. Took to dealer and they supposedly updated the software. Two days ago I used the block heater again, and the SES light came on again at the exact same location on my morning commute as it did before (merging onto the interstate after 10 mins of 55 mph hwy). Anyone else have a problem with the SES light and block heater use after they got the software upgrade?
