With those mods, my bet is on the LLY. The 6.0 will probably beat it to 60ft. but I bet the LLY leaves it behind after that. Stock vs stock, I think the 6.0 wins to 60mph and the d-max in the QM by a hair.

Runs em and let us know ;)

I just want some predictions from the "oil burner" group-LOL-BJ

Big John:

Put your money on the D-Max. Level 4 juice makes a lot of power. Kinda like a modified 670 Rotax vs. a stock 700 :D

I don't know much about hopped up 6.0s, but the stock ones I've been around would not even be close. My money is on the oil burner

That 6.0L has about enough mods to keep up with a STOCK D-max. The Juiced LLY will put it on the trailer.

So its-

oil burner-4
gasser-0

for predictions.....

Well justifiedHD I guess I will let them down easy...

race #1 level #3...6.0 and pulling away.
race #2 level #4...6.0 could have trunked the LLY from 10-80 mph then we lifted for traffic.*

*we did a single lane "on ramp" race- LLY in front- we left at 10 mph and I would have trunked justifiedHD if I didnt lift, when I got back into it "we" were locked at about a 2' seperation (I couldnt see his bumper and Ryan couldnt see my bug deflector) to 80+ mph when we made a car driver schidt there pants when we passed him on each side-LOL.

The next race is from a dig and a full qtr mile on level 4 and 5 (I know I have the 0-80+ when he's on level 4) level #5 will put the LLY out front...by a truck length or better  -BJ

disclaimer- justifiedHD is one of my very best friends and we will use his truck this year to pull my 27' sled trailer out west...I have NO dillusions my 6.0 can out pull his truck.

That just sounds wrong. I've ran some stoplight races here in arkansas with some Half ton 2wd trucks and a STOCK d-max. Dont know if they were holding back or not, but I outran a 5.3L 2wd shortbed. with my stocker. You sure he wasn't on Nitrous? tongue.gif

You've got a strong 6.0 BJ. The half dozen stockers I been around wouldn't come close. But now that I think about it my buddies 800 Skidog wouldn't run with my Mountain Max until he got advice from you. Kinda wish the Dmax would've smoked your a$$. ;)

Now add a 10,000# trailer to each and run a 6% grade, see who wins. smile.gif

I had a 1999 with a stock 6.0L, they are strong engines. The difference between the 2 are fuel mileage and RPM's. The stock Duramax outpulls the 6.0, but around town same performance.

I'm the same way BJ. You didn't think the 700 MM that runs with alot of 800s was exactly like Yamaha sent it out did ya? Kinda like the government. If it ain't broke, fix it till it is.

I know this topic is kinda old, but I relate to it very well. Old truck 2003 2500hd excab sb 4x4 6.0 gasser w 285 duellers. K&N FIPK Magnaflow true dual 2.5" stainless exhaust and hypertech power programmer III set at 93 octane tune 6200rpm rev limit 128 mph speed limit. 4.10 rear end. Did 62 in first gear and 93 in second, didn't check after that! Could outrun a HEMI w/ exhaust and filter mod, and all other HEMI's I raced that I didn't know what they had ( about 5 others). This 2003 gasser humped right along. My 2005 LLY w/ cat back magnaflow, 100hp predator tune, 285 duelers, afe stage 2 intake does not feel as fast as the gasser I had. I want to race the guy at work w/ HEMI (exhaust, filter mod), but he won't because of the crap he had to take from getting smoked by my 2003 HD. I will kick myself in the butt for not getting a 1/4 mile time on the gasser. I will get a 1/4 mile time from the duramax asap. I'll post the #'s and a win loss record for any Hemis I find!!

Don't waste your time racing on the street. I've won many a race at the strip by 0.001seconds. I couldn't tell that I had won until I saw the win light come on. Any street race would have been called a tie by anyone calling the winner and believe me I've also had to run 5 times to convince someone that I really did win, that made up my mind to never, never race on the street again, besides in Texas the minimun fine for racing on the street just went up to $2000 and thats if no alchol nor accident was involved. In the latter the fine can go to $10,000 and jail time. Go to the strip. Pay your money and get some data from the time slips that you can use. I don't care how much you bet, it won't be enough if you get caught. Not to mention the safety part of it all....

Just thought I would add my 2 pennies... I was always impressed with the "quickness" of my 03 6.0 gas, which was better than my 01 6.0 gas. My LLY is identical to the 03 6.0, and in stock form I would give it to the 6.0 in a short "stop light" race. With the Hypertech, my LLY would do in my stock 6.0. I continue to be amazed at the power & speed guys are getting out of their 7000 pound diesel trucks with a few mods!!
