I want to know if GM is going to reprogram our 04.5 model trucks with the new 310hp and 605lb/trq program. I have been unimpressed so far with the mileage and turbo lag that my new truck has had from day one. I think a lot of us are less than happy but won't come right out and say it. I talked to my dealer about this poor mileage and performance and I think that they know there is something wrong but just can't say it. They are checking to see if any thing other than the program was changed. I think it is ****ty to change the power in 1/2 year and screw everyone that bought a new one. If GM dosent care any more about us than that I'll be driving a DODGE CUMMINS so fast it won't even be funny.

I have a 2004.5 LLY - The turbo lag is quite annoying at times and the mileage is not as good as a like to to be. But the truck is a fun to drive and I enjoyed it. I have driven the PSD and the Cummins and I think Duramax is the best package if you want to go diesel. I trying to decide if I want to Juice it, I will have to see. ;)

The Duramax mileage improves at 12,000-20,000 miles.

Don't bet on it improving enough to make you happy. Mine gets about 14mpg mostly highway. My '03 Cummins trucks both get 18-19 under the same conditions.

Problem with expecting economy on the new ones is, it takes fuel to make the power. No matter who builds it, it does take a bunch of fuel to make 600+ ft/lbs of tourque

In my dad's truck with the Attitude Juice set to 5 all the time he does not tow much. He got 20-23 mpg on his last road trip. This is a 02 crew cab short bed 2500#.

I get 17-18 city and 22-23 highway with AC on. Truck is plenty responsive and I haven't added anything other than a UNI Air filter and all sythetic fluids. I did notice a consistent 1-2 mpg increase after switching all fluids to full synthetic including the tranny.
