resetting oil life gauge on 04.5 lly

just had my first oil change today and switched to amsoil 15w40, how do ya reset the oil life gauge on 04.5 lly

Try key in "on position" (do not start} depress accelerator 3 times in 5 seconds. Oil light should flash several times to tell you it is reset

Does your truck have the steering wheel buttons and DIC (driver info center) under the speedo? If so, you reset it using the DIC. See page 3-55 of your owner's manual for more info.

If not, then do this:

Switch on the ignition to RUN but don't start the engine;
Press the accelerator three times to the floor within five (5) seconds;
If the OIL LIFE RESET message flashes for 10 seconds then the reset is working. If that doesn't do the trick, repeat the procedure.
If still no luck, see your dealer.
