I found out the hard way that the stuff that comes in the silver bottle from powerservice does NOTHING to stop your fuel from GELLING!!! It was -10*f last night so I put 1/2Qt in and took the truck out for a 10 min drive and parked it.... well I only made it 5 miles this morning befor it started showing signs of filter problems! I did make it back home at a very slow pase, It would only run up to 1800 rpms and it was slowing down! I know that powerservice isnt the best stuff but I ran out of the standardyne stuff I run so I went to wally works and got the only bottle they had.... should have got Karo instead!

I have had good luck with powerservice Polar Diesel Treat, specfically made to prevent gelling. The silver bottle stuff is not meant to prevent gelling, simply a water and cetain treatment.

Use it for what it's meant for and it does work well.

power service has worked good for my tractor and my truck so far as long as you pick the right colored bottle.

I use the PowerService Diesel Fuel Supplement + Cetane Boost (white bottle) pretty much year round and it works great. Its says "Prevents fuel gelling in temperatures as low as -40

My point Is I now know that the silver bottle is NOT for winter use... I just wanted to make every one else know that! just because I didnt read the bottle doent mean all of you did! get it? ;)

I also use powerservice (white bottle) like ALAN L said I put 20 oz. in every tank full and it works very well . I bet next time you won't get the silver bottle LOL. are you going to the pat game ? GO PATS.

My truck is a longbed and has a bigger tank 32 gallons I think ,but never got it to take more then 30 gallons.

Last week we were using the power service "911" red bottle. We had lots of problems because the clerk forgot to order the winter blend fuel for the shop. A couple of the trucks were so bad we added Kerosene with 911.

Do you happen to know if the Diesel 911 contains any alcohols? The label doesn't give any indication. It seems like I remember the older "White" bottles of Power Service used to say "contains no harmful alcohols" which could imply that there are some "non harmful" alcohols. I've been carrying a bottle of Diesel 911 around for emergencies but have never had to use it. I have also thought about using the 911 periodically to clean up any small amounts of water that might collect in the tank but I worry that it might contain some type of alcohol. Any thoughts on this?
