Just got a call from our service dealer- he said its not the new injectors that caused 3/4 of a tank of fuel to spill out of the crank case overflow, it was the injector pump..

Ever hear of this?

It's covered by GM- not sure how they did that since this is an 01 with 97K on it? but they did

There was at least one other instance reported here in the BB 2-3 years ago where the Bosch high-pressure pump failed in such a way that allowed fuel to contaminate the oil in the crankcase. It would appear to be a pretty rare occurance though.

Glad your dealer is on the road to solving this puzzle....

Little over a month ago with 33k on the truck a couple injectors went bad, after replacing them the shop wasn't happy with the upper performance levels. After more troubleshooting they found the injector pump was bad, and on removal found it was actually starting to come apart with small metal slivers inside. I might never had known of any symptoms, they only noticed because high end performance wasn't quite what it should have been. Now with new injectors and the new pump this bad boy really scoots :D
