As I perdicted the truck had 12.8's in it. Better 60' times, a different burnout box arrangement and sun on the track at midday made the difference today compared to Friday nights runs with the same setup. I'll put up the video and timeslip tomorrow night.

Here's the timeslips of my 12.8's (http://antiquetractorpulling.com/TomacDuramax12.8X.jpg)

Here's the video of my 12.89 run vs a stock Camaro SS convertable (http://antiquetractorpulling.com/TomacDuramax12.89@103.70.mpg)

You list a custom air box with a K&N. Is it just a swiss cheesed factory or what? I searched but couldnt find if you detailed what you did. Thanks

Check out

for pics of the airbox. For "ram air" I pull out the PS headlight since the inlet to the airbox is right behind the headlight.

I didn't get a chance to talk with him but I assume the car is stock because I raced against a known stock camaro Z28 convertable before and he was running 14.5's.

Michael,
That's quick. I can't get the video to load though. I wanted to see this one, is the video down?
A bone stock LS1 late model SS should be good for about a 13.2 pass at about 104 to about 106.
A sub 2 sec 60 time for the Camaro is good, 1.8 is very good, 1.6 is almost unheard of. With a 1.6 60 ft time it's obvious you don't need a stall converter. Is it the low first gear or is it the diesel's low end grunt? It just kinda defy's logic that as heavy as you are that you are that quick out of the hole. What are you using for tires?

I just downloaded the video myself to check it and it is working fine. I'm launching at 10# of boost in 4wd with a set of 285x75x16 BFG AT's on the stock aluminum rims. I calculated the G's I'm pulling off the line based on my 60' times. I was suprised they are in the 1.2-1.3 range.

Mike,

Great time slips!!!!

Very, very consistent. Looks like a it would make a great bracket racer truck to help pay for some of the mods :D

Curious what your "as tested" weight is?

Also, did the E-locker help significantly in the 60' times?

My race weight is 6600# with a 1/4 tank of fuel and the spare tire & tailgate removed to make up for the added weight of the unigoose hitch.

I've tried the Elocker a couple times at the dragstrip but my best 60' times are with an open front diff. I don't think 100+ mph and locked front end on pavement is a good idea anyway.

So you got sub 13's. Big deal. Now you need to get sub 12's. :D :D :D

Tomac,

That is fricken sweet!! Talk about jonesin! I can't wait to get some mods for my truck so I can knock my brother back in his place. Got a question though; the BFG 285/75/16s you have on that, I mean what's the dif. between that and the 245/75/16s that come stock on the trucks? Just width or what? How does it effect the fuel economy, handling and so on? I am going to put BFGs on it but haven't decided whether to stay with the 245s or get the 285s or maybe something else. Appreciate the help if you can. :D :D :D
