The rearmost factory hanger gets bent upwards to lift the tailpipe up a bit higher. While the 4" and 5" systems follow the same pattern, the 5" pipe dies have a different minimum clamping length spec. This means that in order to avoid a weld or joint, there must be a minumum length of say 10" straight between bends. The reality is, that the OE rods can be bent slightly to fine tune the fit.

Personally, I think the audio clips are a bit hard to judge by. You almost have to be present to get a good feel for it. I've been working with some extra long mufflers for the long bed trucks which seem to be working quite well. My hope is to have 2 mufflers, and one mid pipe to fit EC, and CC short and long beds.

I have Kennedy's 4". I have heard the Banks also. I prefer JK's system. Sounds sweet. Especially with the Juice. ;) http://pic4.picturetrail.com/VOL43/437876/551338/11763703.jpg

You got it! Since it drop ships from the state immediately to the north of you, you should have it quickly. I'm guessing Thursday or Friday... http://members.aol.com/panheadgk/copchase.gif

Philip,

I'll check into it. There were a few muffler styles on BO, but I thought they would be in by now...

Looks like I may too late...here are DmaxDiva's Banks sound clips...

I have installed both systems and they are pretty simple and straight forward. I prefer the sound of the Banks, but they are very close.

Thanks for the clips, I agree they do sound a lot alike, I dont think you can go wrong with either.

I starting to notice a trend here! Several D-Max owners are also Corvette owners. DmaxDivas' Borlas on her Z06 sound good also, but not as good as my chambered exhaust on my '98 C5 :D

I'll post a link with video and sound when I get them done. Hopefully I'll have time between Corvette shows this weekend to get them on

Geez...guess I need to update the ol' picpage and sound files, don't I...?

Alas, the Z has found a new home with my Harley mechanic, and I now have his custom Springer in the garage sittin' next to the Road King. Yeah, I know, like I REALLY NEEDED another danged ol' Harley...but I am absolutely LOVIN' IT!!! :D
