It's been a while since I've posted (no problems with the truck and too many nice days to be inside). A buddy of a buddy has been having tons of problems with his 2002 DMax. Been in the shop many times, won't tow a trailer over 60 mph, has left him stranded several times bla bla bla....

Anyway the dealer has replaced the injectors, wiring harness, fuel pump and several other items. But here is the kicker, he swears that they replaced his heads with cast iron ones.

Have I been gone so long that they have cast iron heads now or is the dealer full of it. Supposedly there are 7 DMaxes in this small town and they are all having simular problems.

A buddy of a buddy has been having tons of problems.... All my buddies' buddies Duramax trucks blew up, melted heads, etc, for one reason or another. I'm not surprised. Consider the source. (no offense, TexasMax)

The cast iron heads must have came with the stuff he was smokin'.

No offence taken. I really didn't even want to post the question but this guy would not believe me when I told him there was no such thing as cast iron heads. I don't know whether to blame the dealer for being so full of crap or blame the guy for being so gulliable.

The only difference is that they are a little thicker, so you have to use a bolt stretcher to get everything together. ;)

I think it was just bad muffler bearings. Gotta replace them thar things once a year. I guess his truck was pull'n to the left because he used the left side of the brake? ;)

------- Consumer Duramax has "always" had beercan heads, that was the "Big Deal" in the beginning. I don't know why people would freak about the heads when the dang piston is made of the same suff.

Damn: the word is out! I've had a thermonuclear gongulator in my signature for over 2 years now. Either people actually have read it, or my patent is being violated. Well, if you get one you'll never want to live without one again. FYI "stellarzine" is an antipsychotic medicine. :D I was wondering if anyone would ever get it.
