Making a run to Banff/Jasper (Alberta) area for some fishing/golf. Curious about diesel fuel available.

Wouldn't think it would be an issue.

Just curious.

Anything important to know?

Thanks..

Mine runs just fine on the stuff. Just got back from Vancouver Island - prices in British Columbia range from 59.9 to 65.9 per litre. In Calgary we pay 53.9 per litre.

Bottom line - your truck will run great but bring money - or fill a slip tank and bring your own.

Best wishes for great fishing and golfing. If you have time, try the Bow River downstream from Calgary - excellent rainbow fishery.

Re-read your post and suspect you were concerned about availability. Plenty of truck stops and plenty of diesel in Canada! smile.gif

WOW!!! That's about $2.30 a gallon. And I thought it was high here. $1.41-$1.65 most places. Found this site to do conversions.

AKDmax, multiply that figure by .62 to get the US dollar value. (works out to approx 1.40 to 1.60 US per US gallon)

AKDmax,
It was fun on Monday. That was quite the load I had on eh!? Fuel in Anch has been around $1.34. If you get down by Bird Creek (just south of Anch.) it is $1.25.

WT,
I have ran the Alaska Hwy 5 times from Wis to Alaska. Never had a problem finding fuel. I would keep a 5 gal can just to be safe though.

Heading up your way on August 10 - not certain if time will permit us to make it to Wasilla. Depends on the fishing in the Yukon, the weather and the roads.

Sounds good. Just holler if you think you'll make it this far.

Was more concerned with quality or difference in refining or something goofy like that. Not too worried about availability.

Sounds like it shouldn't be much of an issue.

Wouldn't be ashamed of snagging a tip or 2 for fishing locations. Hint-Hint...

Maybe throw some spinners, mostly a fly rod and a float tube for this trip. Streams, remote ponds/lakes..whatever.

I can be easily reached at robhga@charter.net

tks again.

Calgary,
If your going through Fairbanks you can give me a hollar. Shoot me an E-mail and we can go from there.

Viking,
Thanks, I forgot about the exchange rate.

Maverick,
Ya, Monday was cool. I enjoyed meeting you and your truck is awesome! Let's meet up again when we both have more time. Managed to sell my trailer that night also so it's a B&W soon. Quite a load for sure, little better going back though hugh?
