Why no Pyro/Boost from factory?

In discussing Pyro/Boost gauges with friends, it was said that the factory does not include them as a Dmax (stock) can not be worked hard enough to hurt itself. Any thoughts from those of you with knowledge in this area?

Your friends have it right. GM builds them to run in the safe zone no matter the load. No reason to have the gauges then.
