With all the talk on suspension lifts, hows everyone feel about body lifts. I have a buddy with a regular 00' 2500 E/C LB with one on it and it looks good. Its about an inch taller than my stock 2500HD. It cost a couple hundred bucks and he installed it himself. Plus the stock suspension was not disturbed. A cheaper option with the same look (almost).

I have no problems with body lifts, used them in conjuntion with suspension lifts on several trucks. Unfortunatly no one is making one for Duramax equipped trucks (unless it's changed in the last month or two). This is due to the intercooler and all of it's plumbing.

I took a long look under the front of our trucks. I do not think the intercooler is the issue. There is a custom crossover coolant line with a tee in it hanging just below the fan. If we raised the body, the hose would go into the fan. I think all that is needed is an extension on on side of the coolant hose. A short piece of pipe that fits inside and an extra piece added with hose clamps to lower the entire hose. The intercooler blue hoses look like they can easily accomidate the lift with maybe some turning or cutting.

I think if you buy the kit closest to our truck, you can make it work.

I believe it's already been done but I have yet to hear it from the horses mouth.

I don't care for body lifts. I believe it weakens the frame of the truck and especially in an accident the frame could be twisted much easier.

The other thing I have noticed on the Dmax, is the frame hangs down lower then most trucks already and I think this would just make it look worst.

Dont know about weakening the frame??? I believe they are illegal in some states. Check local laws especially if you try to combine a suspension and body lift.

Another thing that hasnt been addressed. Sometimes you can cause your bed to be come FUBAR if you load it with lots of stuff with a body lift depending on how its done. If you use little pucks it concentrates the weight on a smaller area than if she was sitting on the frame. More things to think about.

Most trucks already have some sort of pucks that fit between the body and the frame anyway. I'd have to look but I wouldn't be surprised if the Dmax doesn't have some sort of body lift from the factory to clear the Allison. As with anything, if you use common sense with one you will be fine. Now for the guys that have 6 or 8 inches of body lift they are crazy.
