am planning on buying 8 sets of timbrens for my trucks.
kinda feel like i should shop around and get a great deal because of volume but have not found anyone who will discount from list price.
any suggestions?
thanks,
matt
The best I found was on the internet when I was shopping was $205 for the rear. Can't remember the Co. I paid $225 for mine up in Alaska.
I won't be needing mine after a month or so. Need them for one more tow.

Okay, I'll ask. What are they and why do you need 8 sets??

cool, mav
i would be glad to take them off your hands if the timing is right. if i heal up in time (2 broken elbows, 1 wrist, 1 arm from motorcycle roadracing wreck) i want to get some pulls in this late summmer/fall and hear they make a big difference on the back especially.
timbrens are hollow rubber cone-like springs or bump stops that progessively compress as loads are added to smooth out ride and maintain ride height. keeps you from slamming to the end of your suspesion travel.
very popular with snow removal contracors and heavy haulers.
i am looking for a set for each truck as all except the 03 and 94 plow and the 94 carries a very heavy sand/salt spreader in winter and water tank in summer and the 03 (my daily driver)gets occassional exercise at truck pulls.
will yours fit my 01 or 03?
thanks
matt
Mine are on my 01 but will fit either truck of yours. I'll be in touch.
Matt,
Give me a call. I am leaving Mooresville, NC tonite. I will be going through IN tomorrow on my way back to WI.

awdirect.com was fairly cheap. I bought from them for the front of my truck. They seem very popular among the plowers for the front but I hear some negative on the net about the rears. Say they dont ride as nice as airbags.
here is another guy that sells em http://www.plowsite.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8751

I had a set of rubber springs added to my half ton.
Ran many miles with 25oolb camper...
Both rear springs broke at the forward attach.
I was told that the rubber springs prevent the spring from moving rearward when compressing therefore putting stress on the forward attach point.
May have been caused by to many miles overloaded, but
I have never seen springs break at this attach point.
Usually leafs crack.
Put in new springs and airlifts, rode better empty and loaded, no problems 100K miles..
