I am wanting to go to a 17x9 rim and put the biggest tire on that I can without lifting it. Who out there is running what tire sizes and what did you have to do to make it fit. Thanks

i am running 17 x 8.5 weld evo renegades with 315/70R17s i replaced the torsion keys to get the front end leveled (about 2 inches) and tied back the emergency brake cable, trimmed fender well liner. thats is. if there were an easy way to post pictures here I would. there is another "place" on the web i post, you could do a search and see them.

17" wheels have VERY limited tire choices  to retain the needed load range D/E. Go to 18" with 325/60/18 (33" tall)Nittos. Some other fella went this route?

17s are no less limited than 18s. more and more sizes are coming available for both frequently.

The manly way to go is the 19.5's. Great look and have excellent load capacity. Can get Alcoa classic wheels and they really set off the tires. Saw a set on a Duramax last weekend. No modification to the suspension were required and they looked great.

Thanks for all the feedback. I decided to go with 16" rims and a 285 75 tire since I put a lot of miles on and haul a gooseneck alot.

I have just put on a set of Yokahama Geolander 285x75x16 on (today). I am finding they rub a bit on the air dam when turning. I am consider ing going back to 265x75x16 or a 255x85x16.

what backspacing are the wheels ? most people runnign the larger tires trim the airdam at a 45* angle and that takes care of it. if you have not already, you could crank the torsion bars to level the truck and that may take of it itself.
