Recently had two rear leaf springs removed from each side and Air Lift's air springs with compressor installed ... first trip towing very heavy 26' boat on 32' duel axel traier of 600+ miles went extremely well...vechile ride both loaded and empty drastically improved...for those in this area, I can higly recommend We Do Trucks of Raleigh (wedotrucks.com) for their installation...wife much happier with trucks ride which is a major plus   ...Jim

I had the Firestone version of your setup put on my truck. It made a world of difference when carrying my 11.5' slide-in camper. Having the on-board compressor is darn handy! Expensive extra, but worth the money if you're going to own the truck a while, IMO.

Opps, I meant "have" not "had". I still have the same setup. I wouldn't dream of selling!

FrozenAKJoe....Couldn't agree more, believe the Air Ride bags are made by Firestone...on a truck with many aftermarket options, this has been the one which my wife likes the most...would be safe to say, it has done as much for the truck's ride as adding the Juice unit did for its engine!!

JEBar: Could you provide a little more detail on the removal of the two Leaves in the spring pack on each side. (Which one's? Why two etc

Thanks

mfontana...since I entered the above information I have learned that when I was told they were going to remove two rear leaf springs, they were talking about a total of two, NOT as I first thought two from each side. Looking at the springs on my truck, they removed the long one (just under 5' long) which I believe was located directly below the spring that is attached to the frame. Since having this work done, I've put over 2,000 miles on my truck (50/50 towing and running empty) and am thoroughly pleased with this modification. She rides much better under all conditions and hasn't lost any pulling/hauling capacity. Hope this helps, Jim

i'm thinking of doing this modification. when my installer re-arched my rear springs, they added a helper leaf & i'd rather take it back out to get the rear to ride nice again

i need to know if you used the super duty bags (2 ply air bellow) or the standard version (it's described as an "air sleeve")

thanks!

JEBar--
Which lift kit did you have installed--the 2500 lbs or 5000 lbs kit? I have about 2000 lb pin weight and am thinking of an air lift.

"Which lift kit did you have installed--the 2500 lbs or 5000 lbs kit? I have about 2000 lb pin weight and am thinking of an air lift." ===> I had the 5,000 lb kit installed. Now have several trips (some hauling, some empty)and continue to find this addition to be worth every penny. Recently received Bilstein shocks and have the two front ones mounted, plan to mount the rears this weekend. Hope this helps .... Jim
