I need to play my stereo loud. The stocker sounds good but no bass. When you turn up the bass too much the door speakers distort. I added a RCA adapter to the rear speaker wires, behind the original head unit. Then ran the RCA's under the carpet and popped them out under the rear seat. Installed a 1000 watt Kenwood amp, and two Memphis Audio 12" subs under the rear seat. I built the boxes myself, but you can get most shops to build you one. JL Audio (http://www.jlaudio.com/stealthbox/silverado_ext.html) makes a real nice set up too.

I didn't have the Bose, but will tell you this, the factory non Bose (and likely the Bose unit) aren't much to talk about. Once you replace it you'll see what I mean.

I had Doug www.auto-d.com (http://www.auto-d.com) install my sub (3 JL 6.5's) and amp Friday, and leme tell you, I can feel the bass hit in my HAIR!
