MPG During Break In

I just did my first mpg check on my new Silverado DMAX. 250 miles, 80 of those on highway driving to Branson, MO. The rest was in town driving.

I averaged 14.9 mpg and now have 600 miles on the truck. How does this sound, seems to be pretty good for a new tight truck doesn't it? I don't think my "old" '00 5.3 L was doing this well.

Also, if you are familiar with the hills between springfield and Branson, MO on hiway 65, I could set the cruise on 55 or 65 mph and it would go up and down hills with no noticible change of rmp or mph......all in overdrive!
I love this Duramax/Allison combo.

Can't wait to get more miles and pull the trailer.

I now have just over 1000 miles and my overall average is 16.2. Over half of the miles were around town, the longest single trip so far is only 80 miles.

It's a lot better than I expected.
