This outfit was originally recommended on this web site with the promise of a discount. All members / owners need to be aware that the insurance company which was to have paid their claims is BANKRUPT. They are still taking my money and did not even bother tho notify me!!!

RustyRoss,

There was an article in the Wall Street Journal last week discussing the problems with some of the auto extended warranty companies. That stinks big time - I'm sure many will be affected by this. The WSJ article stated that 30% of new car buyers and 40% of used car buyers purchase extended warranties

I'm transferring this to the Accesories forum.

I'm still on the monthly payment plan. They are still dinging my Amex every month and not any notice to me about it. That's incredible!!! If I had not had a claim to file, I don't know when I would have found out. They are still selling coverage today!!! They even refer you to a toll free number about claims that is nothing but a recorded message about being bankrupt. :(

Good information JEBar,

This quote sound hopefull,

Why Warranty Gold is Able to Continue Selling Extended Service Contracts

It is important for you to know that Warranty Gold remains in business. It is necessary for us to remain in business in order to work for you and be able to honor any repair claims that must be resolved. Remember that many companys have gone bankrupt but still do buisness after they get their finances in order. So there still may be hope.

I have a car on the Warrenty Gold Plan so I'm out $$$ if they dont recover.

Since I am S.O.L. like approximately 1 million other customers, I hope you are right! However, that quote sounds a little ponzi-esque to me . . . :(

Go to www.warrantynews.com (http://www.warrantynews.com) for the latest information.

I just cancelled my policy as I still had 4 payments to make.

I checked into a new policy with their new Insurer and found that they do not offer the 150,000 mile one any more. They offer a 100,000 mile for $1977.00 their cost. (being nice since I got scrwed!)

Since I already have 51K, think that I will pass on an extended warranty.

I've got 62K on mine, just lost 2 batteries and the alternator. Something to do with the solenoid that locks shifter until brake pedal depressed (anybody heard of that???)according to the stealer. I'm not sure what to do at this point considering all the injector problems that have been going around. Maybe hang on with GM until 100K and trade?
