As the subject says...they were intermittent until they quit completely. Anybody willing to provide the pin outs for the switch? Need to determine if that is the cause before I add to the already large order I need to place to keep this truck running. :( The mirrors are the remote control, heated model.

I don't have this option, so I'm not sure of the Outside Rearview Mirror Switch Controls. I do have the Helms schematics, so maybe I can help.
Question:
Did both mirrors fail to move in any direction, or did only the drivers OR passenger mirror fail? If only one mirror failed without Horiz and Vert, it most likely the connector to that mirror. If both mirrors failed, I doubt it's the switches.
Four double pole/double throw switches,(DPDT), switch the 12V to, and the ground from, the right, left, up, and down functions. These signal also pass through two DPDT switches to connect these signals to either the Drivers OR Passenger mirror. It is very unlikely ALL of these switches failed. This would most likely be caused by loss of 12V, or loss of ground.
Does your illumination light for this switch work? If not, you must have a bad ground G203, which will fail everything. Check this at the Power Mirror Switch, terminal B, (Black Wire).
The 12V power is supplied by MIR/LOCK Fuse 3A. This fuse also supplies the Power Door Locks, and Memory Seat. Do they work? Check this at the Power Mirror Switch, terminal G, (Orange Wire).

Reference Helms 8-1062, 8-1063

The 12V power to the heating elements to both of these mirrors is supplied from another circuit, through HTD MIR Fuse 10A, but this uses the same connector at each mirror.

I have lots of thoughts, but I'm not too good putting them down on paper. If you have questions, send them back, or leave a E-mail address, or phone number, which will probably be easier. Hope this was some help.

That's how it started. I'd move either side mirror down to park the truck or truck/trailer combo and the mirror would not go back into position. I'd sit there hitting the switch and eventually it would go back. Now neither side works. I've reseated the harness under the switch, but it did not help.

Thank Mdrag...I'll hook up the ohmmeter later and see what I find.

If anyone cares, I finally got around to looking at the mirrors and I eventually fixed the problem. It was the switch. Using a small screwdriver I was able to pry apart the switch in stages. First to remove it from the door panel assembly, then again to expose the inside. Once inside, it is actually built like the import car switches, so it is supposed to last a bit. There is a contact in a rubber 'spring' of sorts. The contact appeared to have either dirt or oxidation on them. Could not tell if they were gold or brass. I put some bulb grease on one contact to test if that was the problem and plugged in the switch. It worked for that one side. I took the switch apart again and smeared all the contacts with the grease and everything worked intermittently. So I went at it again and used more grease this time and gently scraped at the ones with the dark marks on them. Put everything back together and the mirrors on both sides work like they should now.

Just got my left side mirror (OE) replaced last Thursday because the up/down adjustment was not working. The new mirror worked at the dealer, then when I got home it had quit. It's doing the same thing as old one. No up/down. These are the power/heated models for 2001. Everything else works fine..........by the way, I've got my Lucerix mirrors on E-bay through Wednesday the 29th, 2pm CST
