Hello all I'm new to the forums. Owned a 97 Chev 3500 Crew that I just sent down the road for a new Duramax. LOVE the truck!!

I installed a Prodigy brake controller today. Plugged the harness into the electric panel and connected all the wires to the harness on the controller harness. I couldn't get power to the controller. I used a ciruit tester and there was no power coming from the spot that is supposed to be the 12 volt lead. I didn't put the additional fuse in because the instructions said not to on trucks with a second battery.
Any ideas??? I couldn't find any bad fuses in the panel??

Thanks

Use the fuse. "secondary battery" means a second battery in a gasser. The gassers that have 2 are isolated. The D/A is parallel, not isolated, and doesn't have a "secondary battery". You will need the fuse to get 12V to the connector.

Well that's weird added the fuse and checked all my connections still no power out of the electric panel. I think there has to be a bad fuse somewhere, but I can't find it. I'll go see the service dept tomorrow.

i just went thru this with a 2001 and it happened to a friend of mine with a 2004. prodigy appeared to set up initially but when hooked to trailer showed nothing. after some hours of aggravation a friend removed the electrical box cover, 4 bolts to remove corner brace, underneath in the guts of electrical center the blue wire was not connected to any power. hope this helps. vd

Thanks for the reply. It ended up being one of the box type fuses in the under hood panel. The tech need a magnifying glass to see it was burned. That's the first time I've seen that style fuse on a vehicle I guess it's actually 1960's Mercedes technology?? They changed it under warranty no questions asked.
