#05-08-46-006 from gen 5 analog to gen 6 dual mode
ordered parts a few weeks ago supposed to get em installed tues. will let you know how it goes. This upgreade will let you link it to your verizon cell for $10 per month and share the minutes. All they ask is a 3 year premium and they will give you the parts and pay for the installation at the dealer only. Imagine that!
Very interesting. Let us know how it goes. I'm a verizon user and would love the same service in my truck.

I'm just excited that I can use it without paying the 33 cents per minute anymore...

Got it done today. There are some new features like you can say the phone # all at one instead of each # seperately. You do need to add to veerizon wich means a family share plan. The bill was $549 for a 3 year service plan with onstar everthing else was paid for by onstar. Now I can use it without the expense I had before.... You will also get a new phone #. good luck...
This sounds interesting. Where do you order the change over parts, and is the local Chevy dealer do the installation? I currently have a Verizon family share plan.

your local Chevy dealer takes care of it all. Give them the bulletin # posted above and you should be good. If you already have a family share plan then it will be 10 bucks for a n extra line.

Has anyone been able to negotiate a better 3 year upgrade price to digital OnStar system..? I was just quoted $549 for 3 years, and all I could get them to add on was two free months (total of 38)and 100 minutes of OnStar phone service. Originally when I got the truck I was able to get 29 months for $379 and 100 minutes. The 379 comes out to just over $13/month, but they wouldn't go for that deal this time.

I have the new digital system in my 2005 Chevy Impalla. It is my 3rd phone on Verizion. You can dial a number *721 followed by your # on your cell phone and have it forward your calls to your hand held verizion cell or any number for that matter. Or forward your cell # to the On Star unit's #. And you can dial *731 followed by your # and cancell the call forwarding and go back to each phone staying with it's own #. It doesn't cost any more to do that. The phones just share your airtime minutes.
The only draw back to the On Star unit is that you don't have a keypad and can't dial 411 for information or reach an extension # after a line answers your call and you need to enter someones extension. But it is nice for handsfree. And like they said you say dial and then say the whole phone number all 7 or 10 digits without pausing. On my car it displays the number that you are calling on the radio's lcd. I guess I will get our truck upgraded, but wow I hate to take it for three years especially If I trade the truck in a year or so. Do you think the digital has better coverage and strength than the old analog did? I guess it doesn't matter because it won't be too long until analog is phased out.
