Well, now I have both systems...Sirius in the truck, XM in the Vette. Now that I have had an opportunity to do a direct comparison, I'll have to say that XM is definitely the way to go...and it's cheaper to boot!

Why? I have been looking at buying one. I have been leaning toward the XM but was wondering what you like better about it. I'm also looking for an antenna to drill and run through the roof as opposed to running across the roof and to the edge of the glass. I might liberate a factory antenna from a wrecked 03 and see if I can make it work.

Run your antenna wire through the 3rd brake light or through one of the cab lights and into the headliner that way. I drilled a hole in my center cab light, ran the antenna wire through it and then used black silicone to seal it back up. I think DMAXDiva ran hers through the 3rd brake light in a similar fashion. This way you don;t have to drill and new holes in your roof.

Check this sight out for more than you ever need to know on satellite radio.

XM is my choice too. When Sirius says commercial free well XM at least the 4 channel I always listen to their are no Commercials. Commercials on XM are for the channel your listening to. Like Ethel Channel 47...The only ads they have last 10 seconds and saying like "tune it in to channel forty seven Ethelxl on XM. Gosh XM is like cell phones, microwaves, etc...you dont know how you survived till you have one. I havent listened to the FM since I got XM 5 months ago. Bill
P.S. I think Sirius might go down the tubes one of these days

Although Sirius has recently obtained some outside financial backing, XM is backed by GM. I never compared the two, but I figured since GM has quite a bit tied up in XM, they'll stay around for a while. Not to mention I couldn't beat the price I got with a stick.

Honestly, I think the XM signal is better than the Sirius...don't know how much that has to do w/different head units and satellite receivers (truck has a Kenwood setup, das Z06 has an Alpine CDA7998, but both have essentially the same speaker components/amp, and both use the Terk antenna; roof-mounted on the truck, underhood mounted in the Vette). I guess acoustics could come into play between the two vehicles as well, but the Sirius has always had a bit of a "tinny" sound to me, whereas XM sounds like digital ought to...crisp and clear.
